Tamarron is a master-planned residential community in the Katy-Fulshear area that was developed by DR Horton. When “built out” the community will include over 4,000 homes that will be connected by several miles of walking trails and greenbelts. The community also includes a series of lakes, soccer fields, and a community center building with fitness center. This development is truly “second to none” and Aqueous was proud to play a small part in the project.

Aqueous Engineering was a consultant to TBG Partners on the project, and was specifically tasked with the design of several aquatic features at a centralized community center that serves the residents. The aquatic elements in the project will serve all residents of the development, so the design needed to serve people of different age groups and skill levels.

The aquatic center includes three distinct aquatic venues. The first is an 8-lane lap swimming pool intended to serve the residents looking for an “in-pool” workout. The design for the pool includes competition-level equipment so swimming events can be hosted at the aquatic center at any time.

The second pool on the property is an “organic-shaped” activity pool. This pool is intended to serve all age ranges. It provides a large, waterslide tower to entertain the more adventuresome as well as a vast amount of tanning ledges for those who simply want to leisurely lounge in the sun.

The third aquatic element on the site is a shallow-water splashpad. The splashpad includes several ground sprays and floor jets, as well as a large, multi-level play structure with various slides and dumping buckets. The splashpad is specifically intended for toddlers and young children who might not be comfortable in deeper water yet.

Eco-uatic Note: The disinfection system for the pools and splashpad includes an Ultra-Violet (UV) sanitizer. Not only does the UV unit provide superior disinfection of the pool water, it has also drastically reduced the amounts of harmful chemicals that are needed in each of the pools.
