CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances
Herrington Ornelas Healthpark
The administration of CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System announced Aqueous Engineering would be the design engineer for the site improvements at a new health clinic located between Tyler and Whitehouse, Texas. Harris Craig Architects was selected to design the new medical office building on the 7.33-acre site. The project proved to be an ambitious one, as the new construction would be located on a depressed site located well beneath the street level of the two nearby intersecting streets – Grande Avenue and State Highway 110. In addition, prior to design, it was determined that the property was part of an existing wetlands area.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was a solution that was developed to mitigate the effects of a previously unknown groundwater source. During construction excavation, groundwater that was undiscovered during soil testing efforts quickly developed into a challenge that needed to be solved in order to maintain the project schedule.
Through quick and creative collaboration with the contractor, Aqueous Engineering was able to develop a solution for the groundwater situation that eliminated damage to the site and kept the project on schedule.
